It would be better to call when they are open to suggest this as they otherwise will not see your message
There is another chain with the same name and it has tables. But it has nothing to do with the one in Leslieville.
No. Pick up only
Last Friday they said they will be closed for the next 2 weeks because their dad has to go for surgery. Better call ahead.
Yes. But call before 4:00 pm to have a chance.
Wow, best friend chicken I've ever had! So juicy and succulent, and so flavourful.
Decent value but nothing special. No better than kfc
Best friend chicken in TorontoKFC and Popeyes has nothing on this joint😊😊😊😊😊
I'm from resale, when ever I work round d there it's a must for lunch, they actually serve big n great portions to please customers not like 90 % of the places around in this day n age/thanks guts
I had gone by on the streetcar so many times and wanted to try this place. Many of those times were either late at night or on a Sunday or Monday when they were closed, but today I finally made it to Chick-N-Joy. Reasonable prices for huge serving when I ordered a 3 piece with fries and my choice of salad (I went with bean salad), and a nice chewy bun. I also ordered gravy which is extra but good. The chicken pieces were big and the fries plentiful. I actually took a piece and fries home, there was so much.Chicken is juicy and the fries are sensational- properly double-fried from what I could tell, crispy and light and hot. I am not a big fried food guy, but when it is done this well it is a real treat.I remain confused as to their name and a franchise that has the same name.
Been going there for 9 years, still the same amazing 3 piece and gravy. Best fried chicken in the city
Best place for fried chicken in the east end of the city. Johnny and his family never disappoint. With KFC around the corner they always managed to stay on top of the game. Thank you
Been coming here for fried chicken since it first opened. The best fried chicken and fresh cut fries topped off with their famous yellow chicken gravy.. Simply delicious. We drive in from Whitby just to pick up food from here.
Fried chicken that hits the spot with reasonable prices! If you're beer lover, I recommend doing take out and bring the food to Left Field brewery.
We finally got here when they're open. Amazing chicken - even the white meat is super moist. I wonder how they do it? Fries are very nice, crispy and soft. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had.
It's very fresh and good quality food, fried chicken and Bean salad are my favorite.Very clean store and the girl works there ,she is very nice .
My favorite place of fried chicken. Everything there is really good and I love the chicken, fries and the gravy sauce. Plus, they have a really good price!!! ♥️
Best fried chicken in the city and it isn't even close! Love Chick n Joy!
What is it with all the negative reviews about the so-called attitude? The primary reason to go there is to get your hands on delicious fried chicken done right. Which they do. So just chill if you think you’re getting ‘tude, pay the nice lady (in cash) and wait for a box of the best fried chicken in the 6ix topped up with the tastiest fries to boot. For the record, I’ve never experienced bad service there. Regarding the hours, ya, they’re a bit hit and miss but at least there will be a next time!
It's just okay, you have to pay cash at this location, no interac here, the fries taste different everytime and there are more smaller pieces which we don't like. The chicken is the best we have tasted, however this last order I had extreme heart burn.
Cash only if I remember correctly. If you want some good checken with nothing fancy go here, no reason to ever go to one of the large chains of your close enough to this place. My chicken was fast and the staff was friendly. There's not much room to eat inside.
Place is NEVER open. Like seriously what kind of hours are those? Furthermore it's cash only, please join the 21st century. Rude staff as well.Between the hours and cash only operation, it has to be a front for something. Stay away!
The server is miserable lady but the food is good way better than KFC
Really delicious chicken and fries, closest thing I've had to the UK chip shops. It's a local joint and retains a very unique vibe, one that's fast disappearing from Toronto.Everything's cooked fresh to order so quality is excellent, and the service was great. It is cash only which, given the size of the place, makes perfect sense. Overall a great find and I hope they carry on for many years to come.
One of the best fried chicken I've tasted. My only issue is there hours of service. Sometimes its unpredictable. They've ran out of chicken many times and closed early and there are times they go on vacation and close for a couple of weeks.
I ordered 3 lunch specials and a gravy and was changed $28. I have called several times to inquire why and no one answers the phone. I am wondering why I wasn't offered suggestions to some of the other meals to get better value for my money. That is 6 pieces of chicken for almost 30.00.
I lived in the East end for 32 years and now live in the West end. ...since I was in the area I had to get an order to take home. ..it's been there for 41 years and still the quality is exceptional. ...prices always go up but I'll tell value for money is fantastic. ..and the chicken pieces are huge and wonderful. ..great memories. ..great food. .. prices and my girlfriend and I have enough for 3 more meals. . Yum yum yum yum yum yum
Last time I was here was over 15yrs ago. Ate there the other day. Still same great chicken gravy. Yumm.
This store has horrible customer service and has no problem banning people or kicking them out left and right for unimportant reasons. The old owner's children I'm guessing are extremely disrespectful, I will not return to this store and I would give them 0 stars if I could. It's too bad, this place used to be a lot better.
It’s the best chicken in Toronto along with the funkiest sauce ever. Service is quick when open but they sometimes run out of chicken. Sides compliment the chicken very well and the fries need that sauce or gravy as they call it.
Some things never change, and thank god chicken joy is one of them. Goooood
Some of the best fried chicken in Toronto, a local east end gem
The trick to this place is realizing they make everything from scratch - the chicken, the salads, even the French fries. No pre-packaged stuff. Not sure everyone realizes the quality of the food here! Run by a great family that exemplifies what it means to care - about customers and about one another.
I do not get why this place only has a 4.1 review - it ought to be higher . This place serves the best fried chicken in the province as far as I know. Fries and chicken gravy are great. Skip the KFC and go here. The only problem is that there is limited seating.
It's the best, better than KFC.
Chicken and Fries are the best - not too salty etc. Just right! I think it's the fresh oil they use, you don't have that old oil taste. I live in Mississauga but every time I'm in the area I pick up to take home.
I've been going to Chicken Joy since I was a kid. It's still the same, same family, same tasty chicken, fries and Gravy.
Best chicken in east Toronto, maybe all of Toronto. Been here for decades, since I was a kid. Real chicken gravy. Juicy quality chicken, not all fat and breading like KFC.
This is the BEST fried chicken in the city. This family does not mess around - serves it up hot and crispy. The sauce is the BEST!
Delicious tasting chicken and their portions are phenomenal for the price you pay.
Been going here since Junior High. Great family run business. Food is always fresh and tasty but you have to have the noon yellow gravy.
Best fried chicken in Toronto.
This place is a Leslieville staple. Really one of the only true gems left in the city.
Excellent! First time there this afternoon, and it won't be the last! Great service too. The only problem is that it closes at 7pm 😣😣, but I can live with that!
They only fry the chicken when you order it. Fresh, crispy and delicious! Way better than the franchise fried chicken across the street! They are close on Sunday and Monday..
This is really good fried chicken. The location on Queen Street just east of Greenwood is the only one I've tried. Seems like the people make their own hours. Opens up at 11 a.m. . Cash only. Not Unusual to come to this place and find it closed, however when you get them... it's worth it
The most amazing chicken. I had been recommended by friends that this place was pretty special. It is! Friendly staff and good service
Skip your KFC/Korean Fried Chicken binge and come straight here. Make sure you get their gravy cooked in house which goes well with their fries. Parking can be tricky in the evening and make sure you bring cash as they don't take card.
This place is AMAZING! Hands down, the best fried chicken, fries and chicken gravy in the city. Nothing else compares. Been eating here twice a week for the last 15 years. It's sooo delicious. The family that runs this place are awesome....Love these guys! Thank you for filling my belly.
Being goin to this place for over 35 years. Great family that is still running the place I have never been disappointed. Always a comfort knowing they are there.
Fantastic fried chicken; perfectly crispy, not too greasy, right amount of battering on the outside. Interesting 'chicken' gravy. Probably one of the best fried chicken places in the east end.
amazing fried chicken for a good price. busy during lunch time as its a lunch place. if you see how busy it is during lunch, you will understand why they don't need to open later. nice to have good chicken in the area.
Best friend chicken you've ever had.
This place has the best fried chicken I've tasted. Better than KFC, Popeyes or Mary Brown. The staff is very friendly. Keep in mind they only take cash. I pulled out my debit forgetting. There is an ATM a block away though. If you want to sit down, this isn't really a restaurant per se. Although there are a handful of tall chairs and a long counter if you do want to eat in-house.
For great chicken and Frye's for the price-best place I've have eaten for ,35years.
